Publication Ethics and Misconduct

Enginuity: Journal of Engineering Science and Technology is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all forms of misconduct seriously. This journal follows the principles outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expects all parties involved in the publishing process — authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher — to adhere to these ethical guidelines.

Duties of Authors

Authors must ensure that:

  • Submitted work is original and has not been published elsewhere or submitted simultaneously to other journals.

  • Proper acknowledgment is given to all sources and contributors.

  • All data used in the research are accurate and honestly presented.

  • Any potential conflict of interest is clearly disclosed.

  • All individuals listed as authors meet authorship criteria and have approved the final version of the manuscript.

  • Ethical approval has been obtained (if applicable), especially in studies involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data.

Plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, and duplicate submission are considered serious violations and will result in rejection or retraction of the article.

Duties of Editors

Editors are responsible for:

  • Ensuring a fair, unbiased, and timely peer-review process.

  • Making decisions on manuscripts based solely on scholarly merit and relevance to the journal’s scope.

  • Preserving the confidentiality of all submitted materials.

  • Taking appropriate action when ethical concerns or misconduct are reported, including retractions or corrections if necessary.

Duties of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback.

  • Maintain confidentiality and not use the manuscript for personal advantage.

  • Declare any conflict of interest and recuse themselves if necessary.

  • Report suspected plagiarism, duplication, or other unethical practices to the editors.

Misconduct and Handling Procedures

If ethical misconduct is suspected:

  • The editorial team will investigate the case following COPE’s guidelines.

  • Authors will be contacted for clarification and given an opportunity to respond.

  • Proven cases of misconduct may result in rejection of the manuscript, retraction of a published article, and notification to the authors’ affiliated institutions.

  • Corrections or retractions will be clearly labeled and linked to the original article.

Enginuity takes ethical responsibilities seriously to maintain trust in the academic record and protect the integrity of scholarly communication.
