Withdrawal of Manuscript
Authors are allowed to withdraw a manuscript under the following conditions:
Before Peer Review
-
Authors may request withdrawal at any time prior to the start of the peer-review process by sending a written request to the editorial office.
-
The request must be signed by all authors and include a clear explanation for the withdrawal.
During Peer Review
-
Withdrawal requests after the manuscript has entered peer review are strongly discouraged.
-
Authors must provide a valid reason for withdrawal.
-
If the reason is deemed insufficient or unethical (e.g., simultaneous submission to another journal), the withdrawal request may be denied, and sanctions may apply.
After Acceptance
-
Withdrawal after acceptance is not permitted unless under exceptional circumstances (e.g., serious errors discovered, ethical concerns).
-
In such cases, authors must submit a detailed explanation and the editorial board will evaluate the request carefully.
Unethical Withdrawal and Sanctions
Unethical withdrawal includes:
-
No response to communication from editors after review or acceptance.
-
Simultaneous submission to multiple journals without disclosure.
-
Withdrawing solely to submit to a different journal after acceptance.
Such actions are considered academic misconduct and may result in:
-
Blacklisting of all authors from future submissions to Enginuity.
-
Notification to authors' affiliated institutions.
-
Public notice of ethical breach, if deemed necessary.
Withdrawal Request Procedure
To formally withdraw a manuscript, authors must:
-
Send a written and signed request (in PDF format) to the journal’s editorial office via email.
-
Include the manuscript ID, title, list of authors, and reason for withdrawal.
-
Await official confirmation from the editorial office. A manuscript is not considered withdrawn until authors receive written confirmation.
Enginuity is committed to ethical publishing practices. Authors are encouraged to submit only when they are fully prepared to complete the publication process in good faith.
